Mr Martin Coetzee, Owner: DHL BFN Office and Mr Burger, KLS Martin were also at the table.

CUT Hotel School and the Centre for Applied Food Security and Biotechnology (CAFSaB) hosted their 2nd Beer and Food Affair on 22 August 2019.

The hotel school provided an excellent dining experience for all guests. The guests enjoyed five CUT craft beers paired with a five-course dinner menu and learnt the proper way to taste beer and responsible drinking.

Hosting of this event served as an important vehicle for the university to strengthen its ties with its surrounding economic space-business, government, local communities and organisations and sustain a general public affinity for CUT.  It coincided with the 2019 Intervarsity Beer Competition which has brought about 26 universities on the Bloemfontein Campus.

Prof. Henk de Jager, Vice-Chancellor and Principal said “we are really delighted that you could join us this evening. We want you to relax, enjoy the food and the beverages with us. Tonight is not only about drinking but engaging and enjoying the hospitality of CUT. The products and services that you are going to enjoy, originate from our employees and students and that is part of the entrepreneurial and spirit of innovation we have inculcated at this university. We need partners like you to help us enhance the sustainability of this university and take it to the next level. It is really through partnerships like this that we can strengthen CUT, have an impact on the society and improve the lives of the people of this region and the province. Let us continue to build stronger relations, enjoy the beer, food and the social engagements with each other.”
