CUT's Basketball team recently held their second annual Basketball Memorial Tournament at the first-rate CUT Basketball courts on Bloemfontein Campus - paying homage and honouring fallen heroes.

“The tournament aims to not only promote student participation, but also celebrate the lives of fallen heroes, and what better way to do the latter than to play and live with passion - for life and the sport.” said Mr Vusi Mghobosi, Operational Sport Deputy Manager at CUT. The all-day tournament brought together 24 teams - male and female - from the central region to a fun-filled basketball extravaganza. The players demonstrated their skillful Jab steps and Pump Fake moves. “The teams were battling it out against each other for a range of prizes which were comprised of medals and trophies.” said Mghobosi. “By hosting a tournament of this nature, we also mean to introduce to our students, proper sports participation as a positive addition to their formal academic lifestyle,” added he.
