Professional Background

Grethé Muller lectures Culinary Studies at first- and senior-year level, as well as Hospitality Health and Safety, Event Management, Hospitality Media and Service Excellence.

She obtained her Diploma and BTech in Hospitality Management and a Post School Education Degree from the Central University of Technology, Free State. She also completed a web-based master's degree in Problem-Based Learning through Aalborg University in Denmark.

Before joining CUT, she taught Consumer Studies for five years at St Michael's School for Girls in Bloemfontein. She joined the Hotel School in October 2005 and served as Acting Head of Department from May 2011 to December 2012 and again from July to December 2017.

Her academic activities include national and international conference presentations, with particular interest in Problem-Based Learning within hospitality and higher education. She has also contributed as a co-author to Consumer Studies textbooks.
