Dr Elisha Didam Markus is an associate Professor at the department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer engineering at the Central university of Technology Free State South Africa. He is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers.
His research interests are in Robotic control, smart networks, WSNs, IoTs, AI and assistive mobility. He is currently working on cooperative robotic systems in health care applications at the Center for sustainable smart cities at FEBIT. The project involves developing assistive mobility solutions for cognitively impaired persons.
He has a Smart Networks Collaboration Initiative with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to coordinate activities on smart networks at CUT. The project aims to develop efficient and secure networks for future smart systems, such as smart cities, smart grid, and smart water grid. The collaboration has resulted in developing human capacity and the next generation of technologists and scientists.
