Professional Background

Mrs Melissa Jegels is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Auditing at the Central University of Technology (CUT). She brings 18 years of extensive industry experience to academia, having spent nearly nine years at PwC where she served as an Internal Audit Manager and obtained her Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification.

Prior to her tenure at PwC, she worked at KPMG as an Advisor and at Nexia-SAB&T as an external audit trainee and supervisor. Mrs Jegels is deeply passionate about mentoring and developing others, with a strong focus on empowering individuals to advance their careers and achieve upward mobility within the corporate environment. She seamlessly integrates her rich practical background into her teaching, preparing students for the rigours of modern assurance and risk management.
