Professional Background

Dr Shelly Mona is the Deputy Director at the Product Development Technology Station (PDTS) within the Research, Innovation and Engagement division at the Central University of Technology (CUT). She is a Professional Engineering Technologist registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and proudly serves as a Council Member of ECSA.

Dr Mona holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management from the Tshwane University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg. Her extensive professional experience spans product development, quality engineering, maintenance engineering, and technology innovation. Her research interests are firmly rooted in additive manufacturing adoption, manufacturing systems, quality management, and driving technology innovation within the engineering sector.
