Professional Background

Mr Qondakele Sompondo is an experienced executive with a background in institutional advancement, resource mobilisation and organisational leadership.

He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of United Through Sport, a sport-for-development organisation based in Gqeberha, with offices in the United Kingdom and the United States. In this role, he was responsible for the organisation's overall strategy and fundraising initiatives.

Prior to this, he held senior management positions in higher education at Sol Plaatje University and Rhodes University, where he led initiatives focused on institutional positioning and mobilising resources from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations.

His academic background includes an MBA from Rhodes University Business School and a BA Honours in Corporate Communication from Nelson Mandela University.
