Professional Background

Dr Xolani Khohliso is the Director for the Curriculum and Academic Staff Development Unit and the Head for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at the Central University of Technology, Free State. He is currently leading a DHET-funded project on Curriculum Transformation and serves as the Institutional Coordinator for the Language Policy Development project.

His research and teaching interests lie in African Languages Pedagogy, Second Language Acquisition, and Curriculum Development and Assessment in Higher Education. He supervises postgraduate students (Master's and PhDs) and currently teaches Assessment in Higher Education in the Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education programme. Dr Khohliso has published numerous journal articles and book chapters, including co-editing a scholarly book. He has been a guest editor for various journals and is engaged in prominent governance structures, including serving as a Board Member and HR Committee Chairperson for the National Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, and as a Council Member for the National Education and Training Council.
