Nolwazi M.R Qumbisa is a lecturer specialising in Housing within the Built Environment Department at the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT), South Africa. She is affiliated with the NGAP programme. Dr Qumbisa’s principal research interest lies in affordable housing, sustainable human settlements, urban development planning, scholarly teaching and learning techniques focused on inclusive education and internationalisation.  Dr Qumbisa holds a Doctorate in Construction Management from Nelson Mandela University, which she earned in December 2023. The subject of her doctoral degree research was alternative housing alternatives in South Africa, with a primary concentration on self-help housing. She is an associate Human settlement practitioner recognised with the Institute of Human Settlement Practitioners South Africa (IHSP-SA). Additionally, she holds a position on the IHSP-SA board of directors as the Secretary of the Academics Forum.
