Dr Gys Jacobs is currently senior lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at Central University of Technology, Free State. He has 20 years of experience as lecturer in the university of technology sector. His industrial experience includes 5 years in the steel industry and 7 years in the nuclear and energy sector. His research interests include compressor efficiency improvement and the application of additive manufacturing applied to energy systems and components.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Research and development of energy, fluid and thermal systems.
Thermo-hydraulic design, analysis, modelling and simulation of fluid and thermal systems and components including reciprocating compressors, near-isothermal compressors, pump-piping systems, heat exchangers, etc.
