Professional Background
Prof. Pule Phindane is an Associate Professor of Language Education in the Faculty of Humanities at the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT). Prior to his current role, he served as the Head of the Language and Social Sciences Department at CUT. His academic journey is grounded in practical educational experience, having previously worked as a high school teacher instructing both Sesotho and English.
His research and community engagement work primarily straddle the fields of language education and Indigenous languages. He is currently leading a significant project aimed at addressing reading challenges in Mother Tongue languages within Foundation Phase Education, ensuring that early literacy development is both effective and culturally responsive.
