Continuous assessment module/subject(s): Special assessments to obtain qualifications

Dear CUT Students,

All CUT students are hereby informed that the institutional Senate approved special assessment opportunities for students left with one continuous assessment module/subject for qualification to be awarded. 

Minimum requirements for this opportunity include:

  • Student must have registered and attempted the subject during the academic year 2023.
  • Student must have participated in all academic activities (including participation/submission of all assessments).
  • Students must have obtained a minimum final result 45 and above.
  • All WIL (work-integrated learning) subjects are excluded from this dispensation.
  • Due to the practical nature of the Continuous Assessment subjects offered in the Faculty of Engineering Built and Information Technology, these subjects are not eligible for this Special to Obtain provision.

Procedure for applications:

  • LS124.3 must be submitted at/to the Assessment and Graduation Unit at both Welkom and Bloemfontein campuses between 14 - 28 March 2024. Late applications will not be entertained.
  • Students must attach proof of payment R220.00, applications received without proof of payment will not be accepted/entertained.

Faculties will approve/decline applications and communicate feedback to students. Assessment results will be released approximately six (6) weeks after the conclusion of the assessment. Any enquiries related to applications, assessment dates and format of the assessment must be directed to the department.
