Notice to Bloemfontein Campus students: Special Assessment in January 2019

A decision was taken that a special assessment will take place from 09 January 2019 to
18 January 2019 for all Bloemfontein students who had admission to write the main assessment in the first week of the main assessment during October 2018, but who failed their subjects.  The Welkom campus students are excluded from this decision, as assessments did not take place on the Welkom campus during the week of 22 to 26 October 2018, but were rescheduled.

All Bloemfontein students who failed their examination, and who feel that they were affected by student disruptions during the first week of the October/November 2018 assessments, namely from 23 to 26 October 2018, must inform the Assessment and Graduations Unit of their intention to take part in the assessment, by completing the LS 124.3 form, and submitting or sending it via e-mail to the Assessment and Graduations Unit.  Applications for the special assessment should be submitted or sent via e-mail to the Assessment and Graduations Unit by no later than 07 January 2019.

This will be the only opportunity to write the subjects. No further assessment opportunity will be allowed.

The rule for the calculation of final marks and results applicable to reassessments, will apply.

A student can only obtain a final mark of 50% for the special assessment.

All students who are registered for year subjects, and who are eligible to write the
reassessment and special assessment, will only write on the work of the second semester.

Please note that this is a once-off opportunity, and will not be repeated in the future.

Students must prepare for the special assessments well in advance, as the special assessments already commence on 09 January 2019.

See the uploaded special assessment on the student portal.
