On Friday, 05 March 2010 a large group of CUT staff and students attended the first Research and Innovation Workshop at the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT).
Prof Laetus Lategan, Dean of Research and Innovation has instituted a new workshop series for research and this workshop was the first of four in a series – the next one is taking place in May followed by others in August and October. The Office of Research and Innovation was recently rated the best research centre in the country.
The reason for the workshops is to motivate researchers to be more adventurous in their research, offer them support, advice, and skills on how to conduct successful research. The Office of Research and Innovation at the CUT links research with a pencil - in days gone by, a pencil was associated with writing which in turn was associated with ideas that produced knowledge.
