Additional Admission Requirements

For candidates who matriculated in 2007 or before:

In addition to the general admission requirements, a minimum mark of 50% on SG or 40% on HG in Biology/ Physiology and Mathematics and Physical Sciences is required. A minimum admission point score (APS) of 28 points on the CUT scale of notation is also required.

For candidates who completed the NSC in 2008 and thereafter:

In addition to the general admission requirements, the candidate must be in possession of the NSC with endorsement for a bachelor’s degree. A minimum mark of 50% in Life Sciences/Physiology and Mathematics and Physical Sciences is required. A minimum admission point score (APS) of 28 points on the CUT scale of notation is also required.

 

Career Opportunities

Water management is classified as a scarce skill in South Africa and is listed in the Department of Labour 2007 National Scarce Skills List. Graduates from this programme will have career opportunities in national and local government departments, municipalities and private companies involved in water management, water supply and distribution, water and wastewater treatments, environmental management, etc.
