ALUMNI CAREER PORTAL RE-LAUNCH – The Recession-Proof model

ALUMNI CAREER PORTAL RE-LAUNCH – The Recession-Proof model.

Dear Alums

It is with great excitement that we are re-launching the alumni career portal, www.alumnicareers.co.za after the recession drove down recruitment levels significantly and forced companies to recruit in more creative ways.  Many of you registered through our alumni site and have created a wealth of talent that every company in SA wants access to.

Our new alumni portal will allow you to respond directly to companies’ job ads via our site.  In the past, suitable candidates who applied for jobs were interviewed and shortlisted and presented to clients.  However, we have had an overwhelming demand from both companies and alumni to act as more of a conduit for talent to apply directly to clients, and hence have changed our model.

Key benefit of the Alumni Career portal

To alumni

·         www.alumnicareers.co.za   allows you to go to one website to see a range of positions from a number of named blue chip employers, and allows you to apply directly for each position, either by inputting your information on their career portal, or simply attaching your CV

·         You can also follow up directly with each company as to the progress of your application and are guaranteed of your CV reaching them.

·         This model allows for a much greater number of career opportunities to be offered to alumni.

To companies

·         Companies can now place their job specs across all the university alumni portals, accessing incredible talent in one place

·         Companies far prefer it as they don’t have to pay placement fees

We would strongly encourage you to log into www.alumnicareers.co.za or access the alumni career portal through our alumni website at www.alumnicareers.co.za to see the jobs on offer.  The key is to build the activity levels on the portal as the more response employers see, the more jobs they’ll advertise to this extremely targeted audience.
